Scandi Gum Review: Good Gum, Messy Fine Print

The verdictTry a small pack

Buy one or two packs, skip the subscription. The formula uses real remineralising actives, and taste ratings are genuinely strong. But the advertised 90-day “every cent” guarantee is a 30-day, unopened-only policy in writing, and unwanted renewals are the single most common complaint on Trustpilot.

What we checked, and what we didn't

How we made this estimate
We compiled this from ten sources on 3 September 2026: Scandi Gum's product page, its worldwide and regional storefronts, its published refund and subscription policies, its 90-Day Challenge campaign page, 279 verified-buyer ratings on Trustpilot, published pricing for four competing hydroxyapatite gums, and peer-reviewed research on nano-hydroxyapatite. We did not chew the gum ourselves, so every claim about taste, texture or results below is attributed to customers or to the brand, never to us.

What Scandi Gum actually is

Scandi Gum is a single-product brand. One gum, four flavours: peppermint, strawberry, blueberry and watermelon. There is no wider catalogue to browse, which makes the buying decision unusually simple.

The pitch is that it does two jobs at once. On the oral care side, the formula lists nano-hydroxyapatite for enamel remineralisation, sodium phytate and sodium hexametaphosphate as non-abrasive stain removers, zinc citrate and zinc gluconate against odour-producing bacteria, and xylitol with erythritol as the sugar substitutes. On the energy side, it lists guarana extract for caffeine, L-theanine to smooth it out, and vitamin B12.

That is not a token ingredient list. Nano-hydroxyapatite is the same calcium phosphate compound that has been studied as a fluoride alternative for a decade. A 2022 scoping review indexed on PubMed Central found it produced remineralisation, reduced demineralisation and lower sensitivity across the studies surveyed, and a 2022 systematic review in Clinical Oral Investigations found it comparable to fluoride under laboratory remineralising conditions.

Two caveats sit on top of that. Nearly all of the published work tests toothpastes and gels, not gum. And the authors themselves flag that long-term, standardised trials are still missing. So the ingredient is credible; the delivery format has thinner evidence behind it than the marketing implies.

What you're really paying for

A pack is 24 pieces. The brand sells in bundles, and the ladder is where the price per piece moves. A sitewide 25% markdown was running when we checked, taking a single US pack to $18 from $24, a UK pack to GBP 13 from GBP 18, and an EU pack to EUR 14.99 from EUR 19.99. The bundle prices below already reflect it.

BundleBoxes shippedPiecesPrice (US)Per piece
2 packs248$36$0.75
4 packs496$72$0.75
6 packs, 1 free7168$108$0.64
8 packs, 2 free10240$144$0.60
2 packs on subscription248$25.20$0.53

The subscription line is calculated from the brand's stated 30% recurring discount, which the product page describes as “30% off, forever” with free delivery included. Free shipping also unlocks outright at six packs or more, where the merchant values it at EUR 6.99.

Against the category, that lands mid-table. Published pricing for competing hydroxyapatite gums puts Dentagum near $0.55 a piece and Enamio between $0.48 and $0.69 depending on bundle size, while Larineco sits around $0.83 and Minvelle runs from EUR 0.83 on subscription to EUR 1.39 for a single box. Scandi Gum's $0.60 to $0.75 is neither the bargain nor the splurge.

The honest read: at one or two packs you are paying a small premium for flavour range and presentation. The subscription rate is the only tier that genuinely undercuts the field, and it is also the tier that generates the most complaints.

What customers actually report

Trustpilot is the only independently auditable rating set we found. Scandi Gum holds a 4.0 TrustScore across 279 ratings on a claimed, verified profile, split 60% five-star, 16% four-star, 3% three-star, 3% two-star and 18% one-star.

That shape matters more than the average. A distribution that is mostly fives with a hard 18% floor of ones is not a mediocre product; it is a well-liked product with a specific failure mode concentrated in a minority of orders.

Where customers agree is taste. Flavour, freshness and the clean-mouth feeling afterwards come up repeatedly across positive ratings, along with packaging quality and a support team that several buyers name directly. The brand replies to roughly nine in ten negative ratings, usually offering direct contact, which is more effort than most single-product sellers make.

Where customers agree in the other direction is delivery. Waits of two weeks or more are reported often enough to treat the “ships in 24h” line on the brand's campaign pages as a dispatch promise rather than an arrival estimate.

Where the sources disagree

Two contradictions are worth knowing before you enter a card number, and both come from the brand's own pages rather than from anyone's opinion.

The first is the guarantee. The 90-Day Challenge page states that if your breath is not fresher and your smile is not visibly brighter, “we refund every order. Every cent. No forms, no hoops,” claimable by email after day 90. The published refund policy states a 30-day window from receipt, covering unopened items in original packaging, with opened products excluded unless defective and return shipping paid by the customer. Those are not two readings of one policy. They are two different policies, and customers on Trustpilot have flagged exactly this gap.

Before you rely on the 90-day promise: the campaign page and the legal policy page say different things. If the guarantee is the reason you are buying, get the terms confirmed in writing by support first, and keep that email.

The second is ratings. The product page displays 4.8 from 2,847 on-site ratings; Trustpilot shows 4.0 from 279. On-site widgets are curated by the seller and cannot be audited from outside, so we have weighted the Trustpilot figure and treated the on-site number as marketing.

A third gap is smaller but telling. Scandi Gum does not publish how much nano-hydroxyapatite is in a piece, nor how much caffeine. Minvelle, a direct competitor, publishes 5.7 mg of nano-hydroxyapatite per piece alongside a safety data sheet and a batch certificate. When one brand in a category shows its numbers and another does not, the silence is a data point.

What's good, and what's not

Strengths

  • Actives with real published research behind them, not just xylitol with a story attached
  • Taste and texture draw consistent praise across verified-buyer ratings; four flavours rather than one
  • Support responds to roughly 88% of negative Trustpilot ratings and offers direct contact
  • Bundle economics are transparent: free boxes and free shipping unlock at stated tiers
  • Sugar-free and aspartame-free, with the energy pairing built in rather than sold separately

Weaknesses

  • Advertised 90-day guarantee conflicts with the written 30-day, unopened-only refund policy
  • Unwanted subscription renewals are the most repeated one-star complaint; several buyers say they did not knowingly opt in
  • Delivery of two weeks or more reported by multiple customers despite the 24-hour dispatch claim
  • No published dose for nano-hydroxyapatite or caffeine per piece
  • Some customers report the gum going sticky after 10 to 15 minutes, and a few report a burning sensation
  • No company registration number or trading address published in the site footer

Should you buy Scandi Gum?

Buy it if you want a functional gum with credible remineralising actives and you care about flavour variety. If you already chew gum daily, swapping to this is a low-stakes upgrade, and the two-pack keeps your exposure to about $36.

Buy it if the mid-afternoon caffeine hit is genuinely useful to you. The guarana and L-theanine pairing is the part no ordinary oral care gum offers, and it is a fair reason to pay above supermarket prices.

Skip it if you are buying primarily on the 90-day guarantee, because the written policy does not match it. Skip it if you need the product in hand by a specific date. And skip it if you want a published milligram dose you can compare against a competitor, because that number is not on the site.

If you do order: choose the one-off purchase rather than the subscription at checkout, then check your confirmation email for a recurring-order line. Cancellation is self-serve through the account area or by emailing support, but the policy states that a renewal already processed will still ship before the cancellation takes effect.

Better picks for tighter budgets

Enamio is the value comparison. Published pricing runs about $0.69 a piece on the two-pack and $0.48 on the eight-pack, undercutting Scandi Gum at every tier. Prefer it if per-piece cost is the deciding factor and you do not need the caffeine element.

Minvelle is the transparency comparison. It costs more, from about EUR 0.83 a piece on subscription up to EUR 1.39 for a single box, but it publishes its nano-hydroxyapatite dose per piece along with a safety data sheet and batch certificate. Prefer it if you want to verify what you are chewing rather than trust a claim.

A plain xylitol gum remains the sensible default if your only goal is cavity reduction. Xylitol's evidence base is older and broader than nano-hydroxyapatite's in gum form, and it costs a fraction of any brand here. Prefer it if whitening and energy are not part of what you are buying.

Questions buyers ask

Is Scandi Gum legit?

Yes, in the sense that matters most: it is a real product from a real seller with a claimed Trustpilot profile, 279 published ratings and a 4.0 score. The company answers complaints publicly and issues refunds in documented cases. The legitimate criticisms are about terms and delivery, not about whether the gum arrives.

Does Scandi Gum actually whiten teeth?

The brand claims visible whitening in two to three weeks, and customers do report brighter teeth and reduced sensitivity over time. The whitening agents listed, sodium phytate and sodium hexametaphosphate, are recognised non-abrasive stain removers. That said, published research on these compounds mostly covers toothpaste rather than gum, so treat the timeline as the brand's estimate rather than a tested result.

How much caffeine is in Scandi Gum?

The brand does not publish a milligram figure. It describes roughly four hours of focused energy from natural caffeine via guarana extract, paired with L-theanine. If you are sensitive to caffeine or tracking a daily limit, the absence of a stated dose is a genuine reason to hesitate.

Is the Scandi Gum 90-day money-back guarantee real?

It is advertised on the brand's 90-Day Challenge page, but the published refund policy grants 30 days from receipt on unopened items only, with return postage paid by the customer. Customers have raised this gap on Trustpilot. Get the 90-day terms confirmed by support in writing before you treat them as your safety net.

How do you cancel a Scandi Gum subscription?

The subscription policy states you can cancel by logging into your account and selecting Cancel, or by emailing support with your subscription details. Billing runs every four, eight or twelve weeks depending on the plan chosen. If a renewal order has already been processed, that order still completes before the cancellation takes effect.

Is Scandi Gum worth the price?

At $0.60 to $0.75 a piece it sits mid-table among hydroxyapatite gums, above Dentagum and Enamio and below Larineco and Minvelle. The flavour range and the caffeine pairing are what you are paying the premium for. If neither appeals, a cheaper competitor gives you the same core active for less.

Bottom line

Scandi Gum is a better product than its paperwork suggests. The formula is legitimate, the flavour ratings are earned, and the seller answers its critics in public rather than hiding from them.

Our confidence in the product is moderate to high; our confidence in the commercial terms is low, and that is what pulls the score to 7.0. Buy a single pack or a two-pack as a one-off, decline the subscription, and treat the 30-day written policy as your actual protection. There is a sitewide markdown running at the time of writing, applied automatically at checkout with no code needed.
